About this painting

Hundreds of short knife strokes in brick red, scarlet, white, navy and tan overlap from edge to edge, like a heap of torn paper with no bare canvas showing between the pieces.

Each stroke is a single flat slab of paint ending in a ragged lip where the knife lifted, and the whites stand thickest, holding small ridges that pick up light. Navy and near-black sit lower in the layering and read as shadow under the lighter shards, while a few olive and bottle-green patches flecked with pale paint turn up through the centre and lower right. Reds outnumber everything else, so the whole canvas runs warm.

AA#1236 is an original abstract painting showing dense shards of red, white, navy and tan paint, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a heavily textured impasto surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Because the strokes cover the canvas evenly, it does not need a sofa or console under it to look anchored: it can stand alone on a tall wall beside a lift bank, at a stair landing in an office, or on a double-height living room wall. Against charcoal, walnut and bronze, as photographed, the brick red glows; on a white wall the white shards merge into the plaster and the reds take over. Raking side light picks out the ridges on the whites.

Specified for lobby & reception, workspace & office, corridor & circulation and living room; it reads as bold and dramatic.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for AA#1236 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Thick impasto uses more paint and takes longer to dry than flat brushwork, which the price reflects.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on AA#1236 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

How does AA#1236 change between close up and across a room?

Close up it is all individual knife marks, ragged edges and dark paint glimpsed through gaps. Several metres back the strokes merge, and the canvas becomes a warm red surface broken by white, with the navy and tan almost disappearing into it.

Which accents in a room pick up the colours of AA#1236?

Navy and tan are the easiest to repeat: a navy velvet chair or a tan leather sofa echoes them without competing. Keep brick red to one or two small things, such as a cushion or a rug border, so the painting stays the strongest red in the space.

Is AA#1236 a print or an original painting?

An original. AA#1236 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of AA#1236 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
