About this painting

Overlapping circles of teal and white brushwork tumble down the canvas, almost white at the top and deepening to sea green at the base.

Each swirl is one turning sweep of a wide brush, and the dry bristles leave fine parallel lines through the colour, so every curl shows its own grain. The circles stack like clouds or surf seen from above, with small dark hollows where several meet near the centre and lower right. No second colour enters: the canvas runs through a single teal from near-white to deep blue-green, and all its movement comes from the direction of the strokes.

Are the teal swirls meant to show water or cloud?
