About this painting

A round ochre hill with a smiling face peeks over a sandy bank, wearing a mint-green nightcap whose fluffy white brim and pompom are piled up in thick paint. Black dot eyes, plum-purple cheeks and a small curved grin give it the air of a picture-book character, set beneath a deep cobalt sky scattered with raised white stars.

Rust-orange rocks flank the hill on both sides. The lower half is a broad foreground of mustard and gold, scraped into ridges and crested by a wave-like lip of paint, so the texture is heaviest exactly where the picture is quietest.

TA#1216 is an original textured folk-inspired painting showing naive plaster scene of a smiling orange hill wearing a green pompom hat under a blue starry sky, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 14 standard sizes run from 20×24 in (51×61 cm) to 60×80 in (153×203 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Its humour works where people pause briefly: a café counter wall, a children's corner in a shop, or a hallway hung a little lower than usual so the face meets small visitors at their height. The cobalt sky holds its own against white walls and pale birch but competes with busy patterned wallpaper. Light from above picks out the raised stars and the cap brim.

Specified for gallery & retail, restaurant & bar, entryway & hallway and living room; it reads as uplifting and cozy & warm.

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#1216 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 20×24 in to 60×80 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#1216 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is TA#1216 suitable for a child's bedroom or nursery?

Yes. The nightcap and star-filled sky give it a bedtime feel, and the friendly face has no sharp or unsettling details. Hang it out of reach of small hands, though, because the raised stars and the cap brim are built up in thick paint and are the most exposed parts of the surface.

Where is the texture thickest on TA#1216?

On the white cap brim, the pompom and the stars, which stand up from the surface like piped icing. The sandy foreground is scraped into lower ridges with a raised crest along its top edge, while the blue sky is comparatively flat, with only brush texture showing.

Is TA#1216 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#1216 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#1216 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
