About this painting

A whole skyline is drawn in fine line on a warm oatmeal ground: dense black blocks crowd the bottom third, rust-orange towers rise behind them, and pale white spires climb almost to the top edge, so the city fades upward as if into haze.

Every window is a tiny square drawn by hand, and the lines waver and overlap, which keeps the dark blocks from looking mechanical. The white towers carry no windows, only thin vertical strokes, and the upper canvas is left almost empty around them. The paint lies flat; all the detail is in the drawing.

WA#1246 is an original wabi-sabi cityscape painting showing fine-line skyscraper skyline in black and rust on natural linen, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 18×36 in (46×91 cm) to 50×100 in (127×254 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

Roughly one wide to two high, it fills strips of wall most art cannot: the pier between two windows, a recessed niche by a lift lobby, the narrow return beside a reception desk. Charcoal or smoked-oak panelling behind it makes the oatmeal ground glow and the white spires show; a single downlight centred above mimics evening light on the towers. Hang the base well above a credenza so the dense black blocks do not end up at knee height.

Specified for workspace & office, meeting & boardroom, corridor & circulation and home office; it reads as peaceful.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for WA#1246 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 18×36 in to 50×100 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Rolled canvas is the lowest-cost way to buy and ship. Stretched, ready to hang, costs more, and a frame costs the most.
Surface
Flat brushwork takes less paint and time than impasto or relief work of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on WA#1246 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

Is the black and rust skyline a real city?

No single city is drawn. The towers mix needle spires, stepped crowns and flat-topped blocks that recall several famous skylines without copying any one, so it suits a firm or hotel anywhere rather than tying the wall to a particular place.

Why are the top towers of the skyline white and the lower ones black?

It is a way of showing distance. The black blocks at the base read as the nearest street, the rust towers as the middle distance and the white spires as the farthest, softened by haze or evening light. The fade from dark to pale also keeps the heavy part of the picture low on the wall.

Is WA#1246 a print or an original painting?

An original. WA#1246 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of WA#1246 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
