About this painting

Two white forms built from stacked, stepped ridges swell up from the lower right of a tall canvas, layered like contour lines on a map. Each ridge is a separate raised lip, so the forms look carved rather than painted. Opposite them, a black shape fills the top left corner and a second curves in from the left side down toward the base, both with a swirled, scraped surface.

Between them the off-white ground carries only a faint scraped grain, crossed by two fine black lines that drop from the top edge and vanish into the lower black shape.

TA#1220 is an original textured abstract painting showing sculpted white ridged wave forms with black textured fields and thin lines, hand-painted in acrylic on canvas with a sculpted relief surface. It is painted to order in any size; the 11 standard sizes run from 18×36 in (46×91 cm) to 50×100 in (127×254 cm). Painting takes about 10 days and delivery 5–7 days by DHL, FedEx or UPS; the minimum order is one piece.

Where it works

The narrow upright proportion suits a pillar face, the slot of wall next to a lift door or a gallery partition, places where a wider canvas would be cut off by an opening. In a lobby, light it with a spot from above: the steps are deep enough to throw a stack of shadow lines that shift as visitors cross the floor. It belongs with black steel, white oak, grey terrazzo or polished concrete, and with other black-and-white materials rather than warm colour.

Specified for lobby & reception, gallery & retail, corridor & circulation and entryway & hallway; it reads as dramatic and bold.

Pairs well with

These share its palette, format and surface, so the three hang as a set: a run along a hotel corridor, a pair either side of a bed with this one between, or one per suite on the same floor.

Sizes & scale

Width × height. These are the sizes ordered most often; any other size is painted to order, with the composition redrawn to your proportions. A common rule: art about two-thirds the width of the sofa, bed or console beneath it.

What affects the price

Trade prices for TA#1220 are quoted per order rather than listed, and come back within one business day. Four things set the figure:

Size
Price follows canvas area. The standard sizes run from 18×36 in to 50×100 in; any other size is quoted the same way.
Finish
Because the surface is not rolled, the choice is between stretched, ready to hang, and stretched in a frame; a frame costs more.
Surface
Sculpted relief is built up in layers with drying time between them, so it costs more than a flat painting of the same size.
Quantity
Volume pricing starts at 10 pieces: the same design for every room on a floor, each one painted individually, or a mix of works.

Shipping is not included in the price; its cost is confirmed with you before the piece ships. Ask for a price on TA#1220 on WhatsApp →

Questions buyers ask

What do the stepped white forms in TA#1220 represent?

They are abstract. Their stacked ridges recall contour lines, wind-cut sandstone or the cross-section of a shell, and the black fields can be read as shadow or deep water, so one viewer sees a landscape and another sees only shape, line and depth.

Which parts of TA#1220 have the deepest relief?

The white forms stand furthest off the canvas: every step is a separate raised layer, so seen from an angle they look sculpted. The black fields are lower, with a swirled texture, and the off-white ground between them is the flattest area, carrying only a fine scraped grain.

Is TA#1220 a print or an original painting?

An original. TA#1220 is hand-painted in acrylic on canvas when you order it — nothing in the iHomeArt catalogue is printed or held in stock. The photographs show an earlier canvas of the same design, so the brushwork on yours will differ slightly.

Will several copies of TA#1220 match across rooms?

They read as a set: every copy is painted from the same composition and palette. Each one is still painted by hand, so the brushwork differs slightly from piece to piece. Progress photos at each stage let you compare them before the next stage starts, and volume pricing begins at 10 pieces.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?

Screens shift colour, so the photographs here are a guide rather than a swatch. You see progress photos or video at each stage and approve a photograph of the finished canvas before it leaves. Moving the palette towards your scheme is normal: send a photo of a paint chip, a fabric swatch or the room on WhatsApp.
