Floor art painted to this season's fabric palette, and painted again when it sells off the wall

A showroom buys art for two jobs at once: the painting has to make the room set sell the sofa, and it has to sell itself off the wall at a margin. So it must sit with this season's fabric and finish palette, come in a few coordinated framed sizes, arrive before the floor changes over, and be replaceable when a customer takes it home. iHomeArt supplies original hand-painted canvas from a catalogue of 1,455 works, every one painted to order, so any composition can be recoloured to your fabric collection, painted at the size the room set needs, and painted again when the floor piece sells. About a week to paint, 3–7 days in transit, minimum order one piece, volume pricing from ten, framed in gold, silver, black, white or wood, or supplied stretched or rolled.

Who this page is for

This page is for the buyer, owner or visual-merchandising lead of a furniture, lighting or interiors showroom, a decor boutique, or a fashion or lifestyle flagship who dresses room sets or feature walls each season and sells the art off the wall alongside the product. You choose a handful of framed sizes, you need the paintings to read across a floor and against the collection's fabrics, and you re-order when a display piece goes home with a customer. You buy by the batch, not by the piece, and the art carries a retail ticket that a sales assistant has to be able to justify.

The pattern is now common enough that the big home-furnishings wholesalers list art in the same catalogue as sofas and lamps: Mercana offers 15,000-plus items across art, furniture, lighting and decor on low minimums 1, and Faire runs an original-art wholesale category for independent retailers 2. What those programmes cannot do is change the painting. Everything on this page follows from the fact that we hold no stock, so every piece is painted for its order.

Not you? If you sell art as your primary business, artist-led and often rolled, see galleries, framers and distributors. If the art is dressing a property that will be sold or let, see show homes and sales suites or home stagers. If you sell online without a floor, see online sellers and dropship.

Can a painting be recoloured to match our sofa fabric collection?

What goes wrong. The collection palette was fixed by the fabric mill months before the floor is dressed, and a stock art supplier can only sell what is on the shelf. You end up with a near-match, a print in the right colours, or a floor piece that fights the sofa it is supposed to sell.

What we do. Recolour is one of our four standard routes: the same composition, your palette. Send the fabric cuttings photographed in daylight, the paint or laminate codes and the stone or timber references, and the painter matches to them rather than to a screen. Because nothing exists until it is painted, recolouring is the normal case, not a special request. You see the work as it progresses: photos or video at each stage, and the painter only carries on once you have approved.

Two practical notes. Judge colour from the progress photos held against the physical cutting, never from the catalogue image. And for a floor of eight or twelve pieces, order one first, put it on the sofa wall, and release the rest once it reads right; the minimum order is one piece precisely so you can do that. The catalogue is indexed by sixteen colour families, so start from the family nearest your fabric book rather than from a style page.

When a floor piece sells, can we get the same one again, and how fast?

What goes wrong. The customer buys the painting with the sofa, which is what you wanted, and now the room set has a gap. With a stock supplier the piece is often discontinued, the next container is weeks away, and the replacement is a different size in a different frame. The set stops working until the next seasonal order.

What we do. Nothing in the catalogue is discontinued, because nothing is held in stock. A sold floor piece is a reference code, a size and a finish, and it re-paints from that reference in about a week plus 3–7 days in transit. Keep the code on your floor tag and the re-order is one line in an email. Minimum order is one piece, so a single replacement is fine; volume pricing still applies from ten pieces per order if you batch re-orders with the next season's set.

Because the replacement is hand-painted, it is a sibling of the first, not a duplicate, which matters to the customer who bought the original and to the next one who asks whether theirs is unique. If you would rather the replacement differ deliberately, our Vary route builds a series off one piece, so the wall reads as related to the rest of the set without repeating it. You can also re-order at a different size or in the next collection's colours from the same reference.

Customers ask what makes it original and worth the price. What can the floor team say?

What goes wrong. The ticket says original, the customer asks what that means, and the sales assistant does not know whether it is a hand-embellished print, a factory copy or a painting. Without an answer the art becomes a prop rather than a sale.

What we do. Every piece is hand-painted on canvas; we produce no prints and hold no stock. The artist signs the work and a certificate of authenticity travels with it, so the customer leaves with paperwork and the piece can be resold later with its provenance intact. Our painters train inside Siji Art Hub's exhibition programme in Foshan, which has run more than fifty exhibitions with professors of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts among the exhibitors, and the hub's own collection exceeds 11,000 works. The progress photos or video we send during painting are also a floor tool: a short sequence of the piece being painted, shown on a tablet next to the sofa, answers the question better than any label.

We publish no prices and quote every enquiry within one business day, so the retail ticket is yours to set. For a flagship feature wall that needs a piece with a story, master works by our senior partnered artists are kept exactly as painted and carry provenance, exhibition history, a photograph of the artist with the work and invitations to their shows; see custom and commission.

Can you paint sets sized to a room display, and in time for the changeover?

What goes wrong. The wall above the sideboard is 140 cm wide and the catalogue size is 100 or 150. The bedroom set needs three pieces that agree with each other and the living set needs four that agree with a different fabric. And the changeover date is fixed by the collection launch, not by the art supplier's lead time.

What we do. Any piece is painted at the size you specify; the catalogue sizes are precedents of what has been produced, not a menu, and proportions are adjusted by the painter, not stretched. The listed grid for a vertical or horizontal work runs from 61 × 51 cm (24 × 20 in) to 203 × 153 cm (80 × 60 in); panoramic and square formats have their own grids, and anything beyond them is quoted. A set is simply several works ordered together in agreed sizes and one palette, so a living, dining and bedroom set is quoted as one batch with one delivery date, confirmed in writing.

Position in the room setSizes showrooms usually specify
Sofa wall, single piece102 × 76 cm (40 × 30 in) or 122 × 91 cm (48 × 36 in)
Above a sideboard or console81 × 61 cm (32 × 24 in) or 91 × 61 cm (36 × 24 in)
Above the headboard91 × 61 cm (36 × 24 in), or a horizontal to the bed width
Window or entrance featurePanoramic at the wall's width, 2 m and beyond

A single piece is 10–13 days door to door. For a seasonal batch, send the quantity and the changeover date with the enquiry and we commit to a date in writing; multiple pieces are usually delivered together.

Which finish suits the showroom look?

What goes wrong. The frame is part of the merchandising: a gold frame on a walnut-and-boucle floor, or a chunky black frame on a pale oak floor, undoes the set. Supplier frames rarely match the frame programme you already run, and a customer wants to carry the piece out finished, not wait for a framer.

What we do. Three finishes, chosen per piece within one order. Framed in gold, silver, black, white or wood, boxed with hanging hooks, ready to hang and ready to sell off the wall. Frameless stretched, which reads clean on a contemporary floor and gives the customer the option of your own framing service as an add-on. Rolled in a tube, for showrooms with their own framer or frame range, and usually the cheaper route for large feature pieces on a long-haul lane.

If your floors carry a house frame profile, tell us at brief stage and we will paint to the sight size you need so the canvas drops into your mouldings. Mixed finishes in one batch are normal: framed for the three room sets, rolled for the 2.5 m feature wall.

How an order runs for a showroom

  1. Brief. Collection palette references, the list of room sets with wall sizes, finish per set, quantity and the changeover date. Catalogue codes if you have them; a style and mood if you do not, and we shortlist.
  2. Quote. Within one business day, per piece and per volume tier (tiers start at ten pieces), with the delivery date for the batch confirmed in writing.
  3. Sample if you want one. Minimum order is one piece, so a first floor can start with a single recoloured work against the actual fabric.
  4. Painting, about a week. Progress photos or video at each stage; we only continue once you have approved. This is where colour is checked against the cutting.
  5. Sign and certify. The artist signs the piece and a certificate of authenticity travels with it.
  6. Ship, 3–7 days. Free, fully insured, by DHL, FedEx or USPS with a tracking number when it leaves. If a piece arrives damaged we replace it at no cost. We can ship to a different recipient or country from the buyer, for example straight to a branch.
  7. Re-order. When a floor piece sells, send the code, size and finish. Same route, same 10–13 days.

Payment is against a proforma invoice, with terms available on repeat accounts. Nothing on this page is a stock promise, because there is no stock; it is a painting schedule, which is why the size, colour and composition can still change right up to the brief.

What to send us for a seasonal batch

The quote is only as good as the brief, and a showroom brief has a shape of its own. Send:

  1. The collection palette. Fabric cuttings photographed in daylight, paint codes, laminate, stone or timber references, or the collection lookbook page for each room set.
  2. The room-set list. Living, dining, bedroom, entrance and so on, with the wall dimension for each art position and what sits below it (sofa width, sideboard height, headboard height).
  3. Sizes and finish per set. In centimetres or inches; framed (which colour), stretched or rolled.
  4. Starting points. Catalogue codes such as AA#728 or TA#053, or a style, theme and mood so we can shortlist from the 327 works tagged Gallery & Retail.
  5. Quantity and changeover date. This is what fixes the volume tier and the written delivery date.
  6. Delivery address or addresses. One floor or several branches.
  7. How you tag the floor. If you want our reference codes on your tickets for re-ordering, say so and we will list them on the quote in that form.

Send it through the quote form and the batch is quoted within one business day. A photo of the actual room set as built, even a phone snap, is worth more than any description.

Where a showroom starts in the catalogue

The works tagged for retail floors are the loudest in the catalogue: of the 327 tagged Gallery & Retail, 196 are tagged Bold and 166 Dramatic, and only four Calming. That is the right profile for a piece that has to hold a wall against a sofa and a lamp. Figurative subjects have their highest share of any room here (57 works), with Animal & Wildlife at 51 and Floral & Botanical at 79.

For the room sets themselves, the residential tags are deeper: Living Room 855 works, with Abstract (244) and Colorful (173) leading; Dining Room 337, where Floral & Botanical (185) and Still Life (58) fit the table wall; Bedroom 457, where Textured & Plaster (109) and the Peaceful and Calming moods dominate; Entryway & Hallway 432, almost all vertical. Hyperrealism is thinner on the retail tag (20 works), but across the catalogue 42 hyperreal animal pieces exist and any of them can be painted to a retail size.

Every count links to the live catalogue page; the numbers are computed at build, not typed, so what you see is what can be painted. Any work in any of these cuts can be recoloured, resized or built into a series.

Also for Foshan furniture makers dressing dealer showrooms abroad

Siji Art Hub is in Foshan, which is the centre of China's furniture export trade: more than 10,000 furniture manufacturers and exporters, over 30 per cent of China's furniture exports, and the Lecong market alone with over 45,000 showrooms across 1.6 million square metres 3. A manufacturer opening or refreshing a dealer showroom overseas ships the furniture from here and then leaves the walls to the dealer, who buys whatever the local art wholesaler has in stock and the room sets lose the palette they were designed in.

We supply the art from the same city, painted to the same collection references the furniture was made to. Send the fabric and finish book for the range, the showroom's floor plan with wall positions, and the sizes per set; we paint the pieces, send progress photos for approval, and ship free and insured direct to the dealer in any country, since we deliver to a recipient other than the buyer on request. The dealer then re-orders sold pieces by code, in their own name if you prefer. Everything else on this page applies: minimum one piece, volume pricing from ten, 10–13 days door to door, framed, stretched or rolled.

Questions furniture showrooms, decor retailers & retail flagships ask us

Can you match paintings to our fabric and finish collections?
Yes. Recolour is a standard route: the same composition painted in your palette. Send fabric cuttings photographed in daylight, paint or laminate codes and stone or timber references; the painter matches to them and you approve the colour from progress photos before the piece ships.
If a floor piece sells, can we get the same one again, and how fast?
Yes. Nothing is discontinued because nothing is held in stock. Send the reference code, size and finish and it re-paints in about a week plus 3–7 days in transit, 10–13 days door to door. The replacement is hand-painted, so it is a close sibling rather than an identical copy.
Can we resell the paintings to customers with the certificate?
Yes. Every piece is signed by the artist and ships with a certificate of authenticity, which travels with the painting to your customer. We publish no prices and quote to trade only, so the retail ticket is yours to set.
Can you paint sets sized to a room display?
Yes. Any piece is painted at the size you specify, with proportions adjusted by the painter rather than stretched. A living, dining and bedroom set can be ordered together in agreed sizes and one palette, framed to match, and delivered as one batch.
Is there a minimum for a first batch?
No. Minimum order is one piece, so a first floor can start with a single recoloured work against the actual fabric. Volume pricing is tiered from ten pieces per order, and a seasonal batch of twelve to thirty pieces is quoted within one business day.
Do you have hyperreal animal or figurative subjects for a flagship?
Yes, with limits. The catalogue holds 42 hyperreal Animal & Wildlife works and 57 Figurative & Human works tagged Gallery & Retail; hyperreal figurative pieces are few. Any of them can be painted at flagship scale, and a commission from your own reference is quoted the same way.
What is the minimum for framed original art at wholesale?
One piece. Framing in gold, silver, black, white or wood is chosen per piece within an order, and framed pieces arrive boxed with hanging hooks. Volume pricing from ten pieces applies whether they are framed, stretched or rolled.
How long does a seasonal refresh of twenty pieces take?
A single piece is 10–13 days door to door. For a batch, send the quantity and the changeover date with the enquiry and we confirm a delivery date in writing; multiple pieces in one order are usually delivered together, free and insured, by DHL, FedEx or USPS, with a tracking number on dispatch.
